Hummus en Fuego!

This is what I'm making today..

Photo so delicious I bit my computer screen

Heidi Swanson is the natural talent behind 101 Cookbooks, my numero uno go-to recipe journal. I love her site because she selflessly shares with us her photography that induces an emotional inventory-check for hours thereafter, insightful thoughts on her travels, refreshing recipes with simple natural foods and so, so much more (including a book). Please go and get lost in her site, and let me know what you come away with!

Until next time, have an incredible day..!

Poster Love

I found this rad poster over at Happy Lady Eats...

Scrumptious poster by Erin Jang

I agree with the Happy Lady. It could possibly be the best poster. Ever.

Scarfy scarf

My new scarf! It's made out of a jersey knit, so it's super soft and comfy. I love tie-dye colors, and these are easy to match with any outfit. I've been wearing this scarf every day.

Snoopy sweater

Sis,
This is the snoopy sweater that Aunty got me from Shanghai, what do you think?
I think it's cute....I asked Mama if I could cut off the poofy balls but she said no. The snoopy is not too-noticeable-right?
Haha!

New dress form!

I bought a new dress form last week and this is one of my first creations! I love the fabric, it's a yellow and purple tulip print. I like how it looks like a painting. It has pleats down the front and a contrasting waistband. This is the first time I've made a skirt without an elastic waistband, moving up in this world! My boyfriend calls it "The Lakers skirt" because of the colors.....I don't think so. Check out the tank top that I altered here.

New bracelet

Check out my new bracelet that I bought while at one of the Craft Fairs over the weekend! It was from a booth that was selling imported clothes and jewelry from India. I love it, it's a nice cuff that spruces up any outfit.
And here is a jewelry cleaning tip that I learned from an article I read in Lucky magazine:

-Line a bowl or container with aluminum foil.
-Put your silver jewelry inside.
-Pour in boiling water and add 2 tablespoons of baking soda.
-Let your jewelry sit for a few hours, I usually let it sit for about 4 hours.
-Take your jewelry out and run it under cold water, then dry, and it should be noticeably cleaner and shinier!

(yes, that is a picture of Canela in the photo, isn't she cute?)

Jellybean-O

Anna asked for a post about my cat, Jellybean, so here it is! I love when she sits like this. She always runs up onto this chair when I play reggae music and sew, she's a little soul rebel :)
