Hummus en Fuego!

This is what I'm making today..

Photo so delicious I bit my computer screen

Heidi Swanson is the natural talent behind 101 Cookbooks, my numero uno go-to recipe journal. I love her site because she selflessly shares with us her photography that induces an emotional inventory-check for hours thereafter, insightful thoughts on her travels, refreshing recipes with simple natural foods and so, so much more (including a book). Please go and get lost in her site, and let me know what you come away with!

Until next time, have an incredible day..!

Poster Love

I found this rad poster over at Happy Lady Eats...

Scrumptious poster by Erin Jang

I agree with the Happy Lady. It could possibly be the best poster. Ever.

Scarfy scarf

My new scarf! It's made out of a jersey knit, so it's super soft and comfy. I love tie-dye colors, and these are easy to match with any outfit. I've been wearing this scarf every day.

Snoopy sweater

Sis,
This is the snoopy sweater that Aunty got me from Shanghai, what do you think?
I think it's cute....I asked Mama if I could cut off the poofy balls but she said no. The snoopy is not too-noticeable-right?
Haha!

New dress form!

I bought a new dress form last week and this is one of my first creations! I love the fabric, it's a yellow and purple tulip print. I like how it looks like a painting. It has pleats down the front and a contrasting waistband. This is the first time I've made a skirt without an elastic waistband, moving up in this world! My boyfriend calls it "The Lakers skirt" because of the colors.....I don't think so. Check out the tank top that I altered here.

New bracelet

Check out my new bracelet that I bought while at one of the Craft Fairs over the weekend! It was from a booth that was selling imported clothes and jewelry from India. I love it, it's a nice cuff that spruces up any outfit.
And here is a jewelry cleaning tip that I learned from an article I read in Lucky magazine:

-Line a bowl or container with aluminum foil.
-Put your silver jewelry inside.
-Pour in boiling water and add 2 tablespoons of baking soda.
-Let your jewelry sit for a few hours, I usually let it sit for about 4 hours.
-Take your jewelry out and run it under cold water, then dry, and it should be noticeably cleaner and shinier!

(yes, that is a picture of Canela in the photo, isn't she cute?)

Jellybean-O

Anna asked for a post about my cat, Jellybean, so here it is! I love when she sits like this. She always runs up onto this chair when I play reggae music and sew, she's a little soul rebel :)

My crafty weekend

I'm done with my weekend of 3 craft fairs!! Everything went really well and I sold lots and lots of bags! I also saw a lady this weekend carrying one of my clutches that I made about a year ago, so that was exciting :)
I've been invited to sell at 2 more events in December, so as soon as I gather all the info on that, I will post it.

This One's for You, Sis

Sweet photo via little brown pen

So, Jenn and her Jennie Wu Designs have been causing quite a raucous this weekend at some craft fairs, so I've heard. She participated in the Woodbridge Village Association's Annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Show Friday and Saturday. Today, she's guest starring at the Patchwork Indie Arts & Crafts Festival in Santa Ana. Whew! She's been quite a busy little bee and will fill you in about the events soon. I want to CONGRATULATE her on the dedication she's put in for these events, the time and energy spent on her creations, and the usual blood, sweat and tears. She has been invited to sell at two other events this holiday season, so keep W Sisters on your blog radar for upcoming details!

P.S. Sweet Sissy: I love you! I am SO SO SO proud of you.

Happiest Birthday to Mom!

(Happy Birthday Mom in Mandarin)

Today is our mother's birthday, and she still looks 10 years younger than she really is! Ma, I hope you have a fantastic day with Jenn at the Santa Ana craft fair (more on that in a bit!). Since you're in sunny SoCal, I'm not too worried about your November day being overshadowed with rain clouds or 45F temperatures. Me? Oh no, I'm okay with the real fall climate..for the next six months!? We love you so much Mama!!!!!

'Round the Rodeo

Okay, listen up readers (that means you too Sis). If you haven't already, check out one of my faaaavorite photographer/blogger Garance Dore's photos and post about her rodeo sightseeing experience in Las Vegas, NV. I've never been to a rodeo myself, but after being captivated by her richly colored and highly textured photos...don't mind if I do! This photo of the little cowboy is too much. It makes me want to pick him up and put him on a decorative shelf. Is that wrong?

Fantastic photo by the beautiful and talented Garance Dore
